Halifax Site Terms

Use of Halifax County Released Inmates means acceptance of these terms and conditions. A visitor who does not agree should stop using the site.

This is a private site with no government, sheriff, jail, court, or corrections affiliation. Neither the site nor its advertising partners provides FCRA-covered services. It is not a private investigation firm or consumer reporting agency.


Purpose of the Site

Halifax County Released Inmates is a privately owned reference that directs readers toward public inmate, jail, release, and supervision resources in Halifax County and North Carolina. It also connects visitors with some third-party research tools.

The site stores no official government records. It cannot confirm a person's custody, release anyone, post bond, or submit a request or court document for a visitor.


Acceptable Use Rules

Visitors must use the site and its links lawfully and without harming others.

  • Do not use information to stalk, threaten, intimidate, or harass.
  • Do not use site content for a decision barred by the FCRA limits below.
  • Do not seek unauthorized access to accounts, servers, or data.
  • Do not deploy bots, scrapers, or automated extraction tools.
  • Do not interfere with availability or another visitor's use.
  • Do not violate any applicable federal, state, or local law.

No Consumer Reports

Halifax County Released Inmates is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. It supplies no consumer reports, credit reports, background checks, or screening services. Visitors agree not to use site or partner information for:

  • Hiring, firing, or another employment decision
  • Housing or tenant screening
  • Creditworthiness, lending, or insurance pricing
  • Licensing, permits, or government-program eligibility
  • Any other purpose governed by the FCRA

Links to Other Services

Links may lead to the Halifax County inmate search, NCDAC criminal offender searches, the North Carolina eCourts Portal, legal resources, federal locators, and outside search tools. A link is not an endorsement. Those operators control their content, privacy practices, pricing, availability, and terms.


Service Provided As Is

The site and all content are provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent allowed by law, no warranty is made that:

  • Information is complete, accurate, or current
  • Access will always be uninterrupted
  • The service is free of errors or security weaknesses
  • An outside provider will return complete results

Custody and public records change often. Nothing on this site is an official statement by Halifax County, a sheriff, a court, or another government body.


Limits on Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by applicable law, the site, its owners, and its contributors are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or other damages arising from access, inability to access, reliance on content, or use of an outside link.


User Indemnification

A visitor agrees to defend and hold the site and its operators harmless from claims, losses, costs, and reasonable legal fees caused by that visitor's use, unlawful conduct, or breach of these terms.


Ownership of Site Materials

Original text, graphics, logos, design elements, and code belong to Halifax County Released Inmates or the relevant content partner. They may not be copied, redistributed, changed, or republished without written permission, except as law permits.


Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised at any time. A new version takes effect when posted, and continued use after posting signals acceptance.


Access May Be Revoked

Access may be restricted, suspended, or ended at any time, with or without notice, when needed to protect the service, enforce these terms, or for another lawful reason.


North Carolina Governing Law

North Carolina law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute must be filed in a court with proper jurisdiction in North Carolina.


Severability of Terms

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be limited only as much as needed. All remaining provisions continue in effect.
